[Orient] My First "Adult" Watch
As it was my birthday this month, I decided I wanted to upgrade my watch collection over the next decade (my wallet is worried, as it should be).
After a decade with my open heart Relic (that I still absolutely adore despite it being cheaper), I decided to upgrade to something new, that is also the complete opposite in aesthetic. For weeks I perused this sub and online shops, until I found a watch that I am absolutely thrilled to now have to kick off an official "collection".
The Orient Bambino 38mm Small Seconds is nicer than I could have hoped, and the vintage look with leather strap is the complete opposite of my black metal modern look of the Relic. I'm shocked I haven't seen the Small Seconds more on this sub, but I think it's one of the nicest designs out there currently.
At the end of the day, a watch could have the nicest movement, it could track the calendar on 4 different planets and resist 500m underwater, but if you don't love what you're looking at, why have it on your wrist at all? I'm ecstatic to be able to look down at the Bambino, and I already know it will draw attention when I'm out and about.
Thank you listening to the rant, and please pray for my Visa.
